Pretty Pots - by Steven Jenkins

I can’t quite remember how I first came across Steven Jenkins’ work but I was instantly drawn to it. His free flowing, characterful illustrations – rambling vines, seed heads, birds and homely garden scenes – felt full of quiet charm and life. I reached out to him, wondering whether he might be willing to make a few pots for Squirrel.

During our first conversation we discovered we had a few things in common. We both grew up in Pembrokeshire and both have our own experiences with ME and CFS. That shared ground made me feel all the more certain that Steven was the right person to work with. Happily, he agreed to create a small collection for Squirrel, working in our muted brand colours.

We have started with a small run of salt pigs and pinch pots, each one decorated with Steven’s brushstroke flowers and finished in Squirrel’s muted brand colours. Soon to follow are our Elsie and Tom candles, housed in Steven’s beautiful pots, each piece made with care, character and his unmistakable touch.

These charming little pots are just the right size for a mini plant, as you can see in the photos. They also pair beautifully with our pinch pots and trinket dishes, making them ideal for mixing and matching. Each one has been lovingly handmade exclusively for Squirrel, featuring soft tones of sage and rose, with a vibrant pop of cornflower blue inside. Every pot is completely unique, shaped by hand and full of character, with the subtle quirks and variations that make handmade pieces so special.

Steven has also kindly offered a generous price on these items which allows me to donate a portion of each sale to the ME Association, a continuing part of our fundraising efforts here at Squirrel.
